Hello Region 20 members and guests.  Hopefully everyone has recouped from our 9th Annual Bikin for Burns.  On with the news….

June’s meeting at Genesee and Shiawassee was filled to capacity.  Unfortunately, at this time I don’t have the names of guest and new members.  I will review these in next month’s newsletter.  On to the Awareness Report.

Mike and his team are continuing to work hard in educating young adults in the community.  Good news..this month Eric Wallace our new Awareness Instructor was able to get Region 20’s Awareness Team into a private driving school that supports area schools such as Grand Blanc and Swartz Creek.  This is a huge opportunity.  Special thanks to Eric for providing contact information.    With the increase in students the Awareness Team is looking for additional members.  If you are interested please contact Mike.  On to the Legislative Report..

Special thanks to all of the Region 20 members and friends who attended the Freedom Rally in Lansing.  It was a great experience.  Several legislators spoke on our behalf.  It was especially significant to see the overall support of Region 20.  Nearly 40 members attended the event.  Hopefully next year, our focus will be on other issues and we’ll ride to Lansing with a Free.  Currently there are (4) bills with a goal to “ride with a choice”. For all updated information read our state LO’s section.  Don’t forget to contact our area Representatives. Indicate the date you called, who you talked to and their response in an email to Jim Rhoades, Abate State LO.  His email address is in the front of this mag.  It is important to contact the area representative and give them the information they need to vote with a conscious.  We are their constituents.  On to our cares and concerns section.

Several families are in need of our prayers and thoughts.  Stumps family:  He and his family have had a trying year with the loss of his mother and brother; Robin (Bubbles) /Terry lost her grandfather recently, a short time after the loss of her grandmother; Chuck Beals (Region 20 LO) son’s family lost all possessions in a fire.  They have (2) children a boy and girl (@11-12).  If you have any furnishings or clothes that would fit the children please contact any Region 20 officer. Chuck and his family would truly appreciate it.  Let’s hope our thoughts and prayers help our family members heal their hearts and mend their sorrows.  On to the RC Report…..

Randy would like to thank everyone who attended the Iron Wheels/Abate Region 20 Pool Tournament.   You just can’t say enough about their awesome hospitality.  Good friends, good food and one hell of a great time.  Not to mention we won!!!!! Of course there is always next year.  For all of the members that attended Burton’s Memorial Day parade, thank you.  Attendance was up.  Special thanks to Mike for organizing the event and Larry for pulling the Abate Region 20 trailer.  Within a couple of weeks we will be attending our State Field Meet.  This is always and great time.  Lot’s of great memories.  Nearly 60 individuals are pre registered.  We are going to have one hell of a crew there.  I will let you in on all of the “special” moments in the next issue of the rider.  Till then…Take care….

Well   it’s time to close…As always, if you haven’t attended a meeting lately, please do..we host two meetings a month; one in Genesee the 1st Tuesday of the month at Kimberly’s Pub and one the Sunday following the 1st Tuesday of the month in Shiawassee at the Hickory Lounge.  If you can’t do to personal obligations, we understand..we know you are here in spirit….
