Hello Region 20 members, family and friends.  Special thanks to all of the new members and guests that have attended our local meetings.  Membership continues to increase. Thanks for doing your part and contributing to protect our rights and the rights of our family and friends…. on to the news.

The Awareness team has great news.  With special thanks to Eric Wallace, our team is now teaching motorcycle awareness classes in Shiawassee county.  It has been a long time since we were able to do so.  Those of us that ride in Shiawassee County owe special thanks to Eric and the Awareness team for their help in making our roads safer.  As the Awareness team continues to add classes within Genesee and Shiawassee County, they are headed to a record setting year.   Thank your Awareness team.   The 1st Annual Roll of the Dice Ride” was held in August.  The fund from this ride will benefit the Awareness Team and help to provide monies to support their cause.  I hope you were able to attend.

Chuck Beals announced at our August meeting in Genesee that he will be stepping down as LO in 2010.  He is encouraging anyone that is interested in the position to express their interest.  With four months left, he will have plenty of time to help you with the transition process.  Special thanks to Chuck who has communicated the Lansing news to the Region and was a spokes person for Region 20. Chuck mentioned to the Genesee County meeting that the lawsuit between Abate of Michigan and the State of Michigan has proceeded as scheduled and we are awaiting a ruling that will determine whether the mandatory helmet law in Michigan is unconstitutional.  For the most up to date information regarding this issue and other’s please read the State LO report from Jim Rhodes. Continue to contact your area representatives, encourage them to support our efforts to “Ride Free”. On to the Care and Concerns section…..

Genesee and Shiawassee has numerous birthday and anniversaries, too many to mention.  I would hate to forget someone..So I am just going to say..December must have been a busy month.  Happy birthday and anniversary to all..On a sad note, we have just learned that Gary Wein’s father passed away yesterday evening.  His dad had been ailing for a period of time and he is now at peace.  May Gary find comfort in our prayers and thoughts.  God Bless……

Randy would like to thank everyone who helped out at our State Field meet in Oil City.  Region 20 had a record setting attendance.  Over 75 members attended.  That is awesome…..fun was had by all. We may not have fared to well in the bike games..but what the hell we came through when it counted. Many thanks to everyone who helped secure the campsite, prepare food and did everything else that made it successful.  September will be a busy month for Region 20, with the RAVE Run and End of Summer Party just around the corner, rest up…Not to mention Region 20 has purchased a sponsorship for “Bikes on the Bricks”.  Dennis Mitchell will be spinning the tunes at the event.  We will have a Products/Awareness booth.  Yes, it is the day of our End of the Year party, but,   do try to attend before coming to the festivities. Guess what…Dennis will also be spinning the tunes at our End of the Year party. He is a busy man…On it’s heel is the Fall Color Tour.  For more information check out the flyer’s …..

Randy would like to acknowledge Don “Hats” Bilger for his efforts as the secretary for Shiawassee.  Unfortunately, personal obligations made it necessary for him to step down.  Hat’s will still be around..make sure you thank him for his efforts and dedication.  Thank’s “Hat’s” for giving a shit. Lorenda Edwards has volunteered to fill the position.  Thank you Lorenda..you will do a great job..
