Hello Region 20 members, family and friends. Special thanks to all of the new members and guests that have attended our local meetings. Membership continues to increase. Region 20 is at 338 members
up over 70 members from 2008. Thanks for doing your part and contributing to protect our rights and the rights of our family
and friends. September’s meetings were combined due to Labor Day Weekend. Hopefully you and yours were able to enjoy the great weather. New members who attended Genesee’s meeting were Kellie Peck , Deanna Gould and Tony Rose. Guests were Roger Minton, Clyde Weatherford and “Cotton Bush”…. on to the news.
The Awareness team has great news. As of August the Awareness team has exceeded their number of student’s taught in 2008. What a great job by the team. More and larger classes are
being held. Everyone has done a great job referring schools and supporting the
Awareness Team. What a great group on individuals who volunteer their time to
keep our roads safe. With the added schools and responsibilities of the classes,
if you are interested in becoming part of the Awareness Team..see Mike..a.k.a. “Kritter”. I know they would appreciate all efforts. The Awareness “Dice” Ride was a success. Monies raised from the event will provide the monetary funds to support the team as they continue to teach
young adults to “LOOK TWICE SAVE A LIFE”. Special thanks to all who
attended the ride.
As you may remember last month, Chuck Beals announced at
Genesee’s meeting that he will be stepping down as LO in 2010. If you are interested
in becoming a Legislative Officer please see Chuck. With four months left, he will have plenty of time to help you with the
transition process. We are still waiting on a verdict in the lawsuit filed by
Abate of Michigan against the State of Michigan. Abate of Michigan’s lawsuit is based on the mandatory helmet law
in Michigan considered unconstitutional. For the most up to date information regarding this issue and other’s please read the State LO report
from Jim Rhodes. Continue to contact your area representatives, encourage them to support our efforts to “Ride Free”.
