***Attention Region 20 Members***

Back by popular demand and two unanimous votes, we are going back to a Sunday and Monday monthly meeting.

   The first Sunday of the month we will  meet at The Hickory Lounge, 311 Corunna Avenue, Owosso, MI 48867 @ 1pm for Officers and 2pm for Members and Guests.

   The first Monday of the month we will meet at The VFW Hall, 5065 S. Saginaw Road, Flint, MI 48507 @ 6pm for Officers and 7pm for Members and Guests.

   As per the calendar month, these meetings may be back to back or a week apart.  We may also have a Sunday meeting prior to a Monday meeting, or a Monday meeting prior to a Sunday meeting.

   The August 25th meeting took place at Jacks Place in Flushing. The meeting came to order at 7:05pm.  There were 17 in attendance with one guest.

   Mike Poage stepped up as Sargent of Arms and Larry Flood stepped up to read L.O. reports.

   Secretaries report was read and accepted.

   No Treasurers report.

   Awareness report read.

   Legislative report read.  Keep making those calls.

   R.C. Report read and accepted.

   Kritter talked about supporting Bill Tomar.  He is hands free riding through the state on October 12 to raise money for Parkinson Disease.  For more info contact Mike or Bryan.

   Meeting came to close at 7:47pm.

 

The September 8th meeting at D-Railed in Durand came to order at 7:01pm with 10 in attendance and no new members or guests.

   Secretaries report read and accepted.

   Treasurers report read and accepted.

   Legislative report:  The Awareness Bill may go into Senate in November and if passed, could be signed by the Governor by year end.  Keep making calls to your Senators to let them know we support this bill.  Also, Region 20 wishes Jim Rhodes much luck in his pursuit of a seat in the House of Representatives.  If anyone wants to donate to his election fund, his info is in the Rider.  It would be wonderful to have a long time, well respected, ABATE member in office.

   Cares and Concerns:  September birthdays; Georgia Wilson on the 3rd, Margaret Covert on the 8th and Amy Frantz on the 21st.  Our sympathy goes out to Bob Curtice on the passing of his father.

   Road Captains Report:  The Fall Color Tour is October 12.  We will leave at 12pm sharp from Top End Cycle, G3360 S. Dort Hwy., Burton, MI 48529.  Registration opens at 10:30am.  The cost is $10 per person.

   R.C. Report:  We need volunteers for the October 19 swap meet at Birch Run.  Our Halloween Party will be October 25 at Bancroft Hall, 108 Warren St., Bancroft, MI 48414.  Doors open at 7pm.  Cost is $10 per person.  Please bring a dish to pass.  Sloppy Joes will be provided.

   We still need the following officer positions to be filled:  Cares and Concerns, L.O., Media and Events, Membership and Chief Area Coordinators.

   Meeting came to close at 7:36pm.
